Emma in Euroland

Tea, Cake and Travel: a year abroad in Germany

About Me

On holiday in Edinburgh

Hi, I’m Emma and I’m currently studying for my undergraduate degree in Economics and German at Cardiff University. I am about to go on my year abroad to Germany and thought it would be good to document all the trials and tribulations, the good times and the bad times and all the general times in between. It’s going to be an amazing, difficult and interesting year and it’s going to be particularly intriguing for an Economics student due to all the turmoil going on with the Euro. I cannot imagine a better time to be going. So, if you fancy joining me on the rollercoaster ride that is bound to be my year abroad, have a read. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Its going to be fab being able to keep up to date with all your news Emma whilst you’re in Germany. I know it’s probably get tough at times being so far from home but at least this way we can all stay in touch & perhaps you won’t feel so far away..

Look forward to hearing all your news

    Aunty Julie

    • I’m so glad you’re looking forward to hearing about it all :). There will be times, I am sure, when I will feel like home is many moons away. But you are right, the internet has allowed us to sometimes forget the miles between us. I certainly look forward to writing about my year and telling you all whats going on!

  2. Heya! Thanks for stopping by my blog. So glad to know you’re away on a year abroad – those are the best! I was in England on my year abroad, and got tons of travelling done. When I was doing my internship in Berlin, my flatmate was on her year abroad from Cambridge – she was studying History and German.
You’re gonna have a great time! Make sure you head down to Munich for Oktoberfest 😉

    • I’m hoping to do lots of travelling whilst I’m here! I have already had the chance to visit Cologne, Frankfurt, Duesseldorf and Weimar and I’ve only been here 3 weeks! Definitely hoping to get down to Munich soon and see some lederhosen 😉
